Introduction
ahalaxmi Temple is a Hindu temple, dedicated to Mahalakshmi, the central deity of the Devi Mahatmyam, located in Mumbai, India. It is one of the most famous temples of the city of Mumbai. The temple was built in 1831 by Dhakji Dadaji (1760–1846), a Hindu merchant. The Mahalaxmi temple contains images of the Tridevi goddesses Mahakali (Goddess of time and destroyer of demons), Mahalakshmi (Goddess of wealth and prosperity) and Mahasaraswati (Goddess of learning and knowledge).
About the deity — Lakshmi
Lakshmi, also known as Shri, is one of the principal goddesses in Hinduism, revered as the goddess of fortune, wealth, prosperity, beauty, fertility, sovereignty, and abundance. With Parvati and Sarasvati, she forms the trinity of goddesses called the Tridevi.
