What is DharmSetu?
A community platform for the temples, devotees, pujaris and volunteers of India. Today it publishes a temple directory and a library of stories, mantras, deities and scripture; the seva features — temple registration, volunteering, welfare assistance — are still being built.
Does it cost anything?
No. Everything on DharmSetu is free to read, there is no subscription, and no listing is paid for or sponsored.
Where does the content come from?
Reference material is assembled from public sources — Wikipedia and Wikisource among them — along with temple trusts and published scholarship. Each article carries its source and licence at the foot of the page.
Why does a temple show as unverified?
Because nobody has confirmed it yet. DharmSetu marks how a record was checked rather than quietly presenting everything as equally reliable, and records that have not reached volunteer verification stay out of public search entirely.
Can I register my temple, or sign up as a volunteer or pujari?
Not yet. Registration is designed but closed while the verification process behind it is being finished. It involves real people asking for real help, and it should not open before the checks behind it are trustworthy.
What languages is DharmSetu available in?
English and हिन्दी, with Sanskrit source text where it applies. Coverage varies by section: the Ramayana, Mahabharata and astrology material are fully bilingual, while some temple articles are English-only for now.
Do I need an account to read anything?
No. Every page on the site is readable without signing in, and accounts are closed during this phase.
I found something wrong. What do I do?
Tell us. Corrections from people who know a place first-hand — a temple in the wrong district, a timing that changed, a mistranslation — are the most valuable thing we receive. Use the contact form and point us at the page, and we will look into it.
